Weddings
One of the three most important decisions a man and a woman make in a lifetime is the choice of a spouse. The other times are the choice of a vocation and the decision to live a Christian life. Marriage, therefore, requires careful preparation and planning.
Sunnyside Presbyterian Church rejoices in the decision of a couple who choose to declare their vows to each other in a ceremony of Christian marriage.
The pastor performing the wedding ceremony will meet with the couple normally on two or more occasions sometime before the wedding for consultation and discussion about the preparation for marriage. Arrangements for the pre-marital conference should be made by the bride-elect and groom-elect.
All plans for the wedding ceremony are to be approved by the officiating minister. It is important that no commitments be made, such as the date and time of the wedding and reservation for the reception hall, until after consultation with the officiating pastor.
Because a wedding is a service of worship of the church community, Sunnyside typically only schedules weddings for our members.
