Visitor Information
Sunnyside Presbyterian Church loves to welcome friends and visitors to worship with us throughout the year. We would be glad to have you join us!
Sunnyside is centrally located, and members and visitors come from all over St. Joseph County and some from Elkhart, too. Our church building is 2 blocks south of the South Bend Clinic and immediately north of the Jefferson Medical Arts Building. Contact us if you would like more information about our location.
Sunnyside is best described as a traditional church that is open to creative programming. Our worship service is at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday and follows a traditional order, but allows for the use of contemporary music and messages. Our members are comfortable with both casual dress and Sunday best.
What to Expect
Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, but Sunnysiders and visitors often arrive early and enjoy a time of fellowship before worship in our newly created Gathering Place.
Information packets for visitors can be found near each door by specially marked tables. This packet will include information about our programs as well as our monthly newsletter.
Worship in the sanctuary typically lasts until 10:30, and then we gather for fellowship until 10:55 when Adult and Youth Sunday school begins.
Tours of the building are offered each week. If you would like to participate in the tour please speak with one of the ushers after worship. They will be able to show you around the building as well as explain the variety of programs and classes that we offer. If you would like to speak with one of the pastors during your visit, just tell your guide and they will help you get connected.
If you visit us with your children you have a variety of options on Sunday mornings:
- The nursery for children ages birth to three years old is available from 9:15 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.
- The Gerber Clark Lounge at the back of the sanctuary is also available if you would like a more comfortable place to worship with your child.
- Children who are in Preschool through 5th Grade are welcomed to leave the service after the children's sermon for a time of fellowship in the Children's Library and Children's Music.
- Children are always welcome to stay in worship with us for the entire hour.
If you are visiting without your children, please feel free to check out our children's classrooms and ask for more information on Children's Ministry at Sunnyside.
