Outreach
Congregational Outreach
Sunnyside Deacons practice a ministry of love and compassion for our members and friends. Through personal connections and growing relationships they reach out to those in many different situations of need from hospital and home visits to meals, cash assistance, and neighborhood groups.
Sunnysiders also care for each other through our growing prayer shall ministry and our meals for families experiencing the birth of a child.
Our active prayer chain keeps us connected both to each other and to God as we offer our needs, our joys, and our intercessions in Christ's name.

Community Outreach
In 2005, Sunnyside was recognized by the Presbytery of Wabash Valley as the top mission giver for the year throughout the Presbytery. We are proud of our commitment to serving others in God's name through both our monies and our time and talents.
Locally Sunnyside supports several agencies that work in the South Bend community to bring assistance and relief. Our ongoing local activities include annual support of a Habitat for Humanity home, monthly meals for Hope Rescue Mission and monthly collections of food and cash for our neighborhood food bank.
Sunnyside also is very active in supporting national and international mission. Particularly through support of the Presbyterian Church (USA) mission and relief efforts we are able to reach out to people in need all over the world.
In 2006, we have begun an exciting relationship with the United Houma Nation, a Native American tribe in Louisiana devastated by the hurricanes of 2005. Through Church World Services we have been able to send financial support, to donate kitchen items and to send a group of adults to spend a week helping to repair damaged homes. We look forward to this ongoing relationship.
