Jubilee is a co-operative effort by several local Presbyterian Churches to assist local families in need to provide their families with a Christmas, in a hands on way. Jubilee Christmas which gives low-income parents an opportunity to wrap donated new toys and new or slightly used clothing for their children as Christmas gifts.
Sunnyside members are asked to pick a gift tag from the Giving Tree and bring new or slightly used children’s clothing and monetary donations. Volunteers are also needed to bake cookies and to serve as hosts for the parents on Jubilee Day. Host volunteers will telephone the parents and help them wrap the pre-selected gifts. All cards sent to the church will be hung on a Christmas tree in the narthex and family names will appear in the bulletin on December 18, 24, and 25.
